8-colour rotogravure printing

Printed films and papers form the starting point for flexible packaging, food wraps, decorative papers and labels.

  • Artwork repeats and colour references agreed for the application
  • Cylinder requirements considered during print preparation
  • Roll or converted output selected around the buyer’s process

Coating & lamination

Two-in-one coating and lamination equipment and a solventless route support different structures and end-use requirements.

  • Solvent-based or solventless route assessed for the material
  • Paper and film combinations discussed against the brief
  • Bonding, cure and downstream conversion requirements agreed

Solventless lamination at GEPL

Process / 03

Solventless lamination

A dedicated solventless lamination machine adds a separate production route for compatible multilayer structures. These photographs show the machine installed at GEPL.

  • Layer and adhesive compatibility reviewed for each brief
  • Bonding, curing and downstream conversion requirements agreed
  • Supply format selected around your filling or conversion line

UV coating & surface finishing

Coating and finishing are assessed against the substrate, artwork and intended application.

  • Coating and substrate compatibility reviewed
  • Appearance and finish agreed against a reference
  • Downstream handling requirements considered

Slitting & rewinding

Printed and laminated webs are prepared to the roll widths and dispatch formats required by filling or conversion equipment.

  • Reel width, core size and winding direction
  • Repeat and downstream machine requirements
  • Roll handling and packing requirements

Planning your production run

Define the job before fixing the schedule.

Print
Up to eight colours, with artwork and cylinder requirements agreed before production.
Lamination routes
Double-head coating/lamination and dedicated solventless lamination, selected for material and adhesive compatibility.
Widths & roll specifications
Confirm the usable web width, core, outside diameter and winding direction for the selected route.
Order size & delivery
Share volume per design, repeat frequency and target date. GEPL will confirm minimum quantity, material availability and production lead time for that job.
